It is thought that the Dutch name Speculaas comes from the latin 'speculum' that means mirror.
Traditionally speculaas biscuits are the mirror image of the carved wooden moulds they are baked in.
Windmill shaped speculaas biscuits are known throughout the whole world, as are male or female speculaas figurines.

THE SALE OF PRODUCTS TO YOU
3.1 Any Goods and prices of Goods displayed on Web Site constitute an invitation to buy. Once you go to the checkout section of Web Site and click to purchase Goods, this constitutes an offer made by you to The Speculaas Spice Company. Acceptance of your offer only occurs once you have successfully completed the payment process via Paypal payment processing and receive notification from The Speculaas Spice Company of acceptance of your offer.
3.2 When you place an order to purchase Goods from Web Site, we will send you an e-mail confirming receipt of your order and containing the details of your order. We must receive payment for the whole of the price of the Goods you order, and the applicable charges for carriage and insurance, before your order can be accepted unless we have agreed otherwise in advance in writing. Payment is to be made by User's credit or debit card, or PayPal account and all credit and debit card information is processed by Paypal in an encrypted form for security.
3.3 Please review our Returns Policy, which applies to products purchased from Us. In addition to your 14 days returns right, you are entitled to a statutory cooling-off period of 7 business days.
